How to convince your boss you need to be at the VTC

How to convince your boss you need to be at the VTC

Your boss really shouldn’t need convincing. They should KNOW that this is the one professional development event of the year not to miss. After all, it’s the ONLY Victorian, tourism specific event of its kind. This year’s program offers relevant and meaningful presentations on how you can grow your business whilst at the same time improving the state-wide tourism landscape. Aside from the formal program there are of course, valuable networking opportunities throughout the two days to connect with tourism operators, industry leaders and decision makers from across Victoria.

So, to make it easier for you get your boss to sign off on your attendance, we have created the following template that you can use to support your bid:

SUBJECT LINE: Victorian Tourism Conference 2018

Hi <Insert Your Boss’ Name Here>, As you know, keeping up with the latest industry trends is essential for our team’s success. <You may want to customise this first sentence based on your unique needs.>

The team at the Victoria Tourism Industry Council (VTIC) are hosting their fifth-annual Victorian Tourism Conference on July 30 and 31 on the Mornington Peninsula at Cape Schanck. In previous years, the conference’s have attracted 300+ members of the Victorian tourism and events industry and VTIC are expecting similar numbers again in 2018. I believe that attending this conference will enable me to discover valuable new ways to approach in our work, share my lessons learnt with our team, and connect with industry leaders and decision makers and other tourism operators from across Victoria.

Here’s a quick breakdown of the event:

* Two days of plenary and workshops, exploring topics such as the Guest Experience Map, leveraging emerging technologies, tracking visitor journeys and the power of ‘user generated content’. PLUS updates from Visit Victoria, Tourism Australia and Parks Victoria.

* Over 20 presentations from international, interstate and local experts and industry leaders, including The Hon John Eren MP, John O’Sullivan, Peter Bingeman, Jesse Desjardins, Carolyn Miller, Michael Cassel, Anne Hardy, Martin Esnault and Felicia Mariani – to name just a handful.

* A Networking Reception and Conference Dinner on Monday evening perfect for building relationships

Because we’re VTIC Members, your investment in me to attend will be just:

* Two day pass including dinner: $690 + GST

* One day pass: $350 + GST

Would you please consider providing your permission as I’d like to secure my registration to this event before registrations close in Mid July.

Thanks for your consideration.
