State Member for Macedon
Having grown up in a small farming community in north-east Victoria, Mary-Anne understands the unique needs of people living in small towns and communities. As Special Adviser to the Regional Tourism Review, Mary-Anne is exploring how we can take greater advantage of the opportunities that tourism presents to Victoria’s rural and regional communities and help grow their share of the national market.
Prior to being first elected to Parliament in November 2014, Mary-Anne enjoyed working across the public, private and community sectors, including as a communications executive at the Department of Premier and Cabinet, NAB, and Plan International.
Mary-Anne was reappointed as Cabinet Secretary in the Andrews Labor Government in November 2018, a role in which she has now served for two and a half years. Prior to that, she served as Parliamentary Secretary for Health and Parliamentary Secretary for Carers.
On a more personal note, Mary-Anne is an avid reader who enjoys running, spending time with her family, and enjoying all that life in Macedon has to offer. As a member of St Kilda Football Club, she continues to live in hope of another Premiership in her lifetime.
